Mindful Movement: Enhancing Grounded Presence for Ourselves and with Clients
June 18 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am
The more we are at home in our bodies, the more we can be present with our clients. Our work as clinicians is deeply informed by our being at ease in our body, comfortable with ourselves, and in touch with our own sensations. A mind-body connection facilitates a more centered therapeutic presence.
This Mindful Movement practice is a continual coming home to ourselves. It is formally called Mentastics® and is part of the Trager® Approach to body-mind integration and movement education. There are no moves to learn, no protocol or lessons; It can be done sitting or standing, and requires no special clothes or level of physical conditioning. Join Trager® Approach Practitioner Robbin Phelps for this vital workshop where we explore bodywork, mindful movement and body-mind connection.

About the presenter:
Robbin Phelps is psychotherapist at Creative Ways Therapy in DC, and has a private practice as a Trager Approach practitioner and energy medicine practitioner. Her psychotherapy work is supported and influenced by twelve years of practicing the Trager Approach, which gives her a body-focused lens on her clients, and movement tools for self-care and self-development.
Since early on in the pandemic, she’s been leading a weekly Zoom class in Mindful Movement, which is drawn entirely from this practice. Her joy is being in the mix where different areas of her work inform one another, like sharing Mindful Movement with psychotherapists.
