Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

October 13, 2023 @ 9:00 am 10:30 am

mindfulness presentation

About This Presentation

In this workshop, MBSR teacher David Gofman, MA, LPC will offer an introduction to mindfulness meditation. Attendees will also learn what a participant or client can expect in a MBSR course.

We will experience the power of the present moment together. And leave with a better understanding of common misconceptions about mindfulness, while gaining practical tools to use with clients and in our daily lives.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) was originally developed in the 1970’s by Dr. John Kabat-Zinn at UMASS Medical Center. It began as a way to teach mindfulness meditation to people who have little or no experience with meditation practice. Over the past 40 years, MBSR has established the gold standard for teaching mindfulness meditation in medical and research communities in the west.
