Mindfulness for Anxiety Reduction Psychotherapy Group
July 20 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, repeating until July 20, 2021
This online 8-week psychotherapy group taps into the power of mindfulness to alleviate the symptoms of anxiety. Mindfulness is the basis for many of the brain-based and non-verbal approaches shown to be effective in the treatment of anxiety and trauma, and has the power to change the brain’s response to stress. Particularly in this time of increased anxiety for many, having professionally facilitated group work is a powerful way to really see results.
Each week will include mindfulness practice, group process, as well as readings and discussion on different topics including Working with the Inner Critic, Mindful Self-Compassion, Mindfulness in Daily Life, and Finding Refuge in the Body.
Michele Topel is a certified mindfulness meditation teacher, licensed clinician and all around down to earth and approachable human. A link to Michele’s approach to mindfulness and clinical practice can be found here.
The group will begin on June 1 and will meet every Tuesday evening from 5:30 – 7p until July 20th. Cost for the 8-week group is $90 per session, and invoices will be provided to get insurance reimbursement. In order to enhance the effectiveness of the group experience, a commitment to attending each of the 8-week sessions is requested.
