Cultivate Well-Being Through the Buddhist Brahma Vihara Practices

March 21 @ 9:00 am 10:30 am

Discover Gentle Practices to Cultivate Inner Calm

In the midst of life’s busyness, finding moments of stillness can feel challenging. Your mind races and your heart longs for ease. The wisdom of Buddhist meditation offers a gentle way to nurture balance and resilience.

This workshop introduces four heart-centered practices—Loving-kindness, Compassion, Appreciative Joy, and Equanimity—simple yet profound tools for fostering greater well-being. While we’ll touch on all four, we’ll spend most of our time exploring Loving-kindness and Self-Compassion, foundational practices for bringing more warmth and clarity into daily life.

In this session, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Learn how you can cultivate greater well-being for yourself, for your relationships, and for the world around you.
  • Learn to navigate the inevitable ups and downs of life with more grace and ease
  • Gain practical tools from the Brahma Viharas to cultivate balance, compassion, and joy in everyday life.
  • Deepen your understanding of mindfulness and compassion, learning how they support emotional balance.
  • Engage in guided Loving-kindness and Self-Compassion meditations to experience these practices firsthand.

There’s no need for prior meditation experience—just a willingness to show up for yourself with curiosity and care.

Join us as we create a space for reflection, connection, and gentle transformation.

For Clinicians: The HPG workshop series is approved by the D.C. Board of Social Work for ten 1.5-hour workshops from Sept – June for a total of 15 CEUs if you attend all workshops. I don’t usually engage in virtual presentations to any great extent, but Holistic Presentations for Growth is different. There’s a warmth of intimacy in this group that encourages and inspires participation through a mutual love of learning and a compassionate investment in what it means to be human. – J.B.
