Let us find the right therapist for you
We’ll take the guesswork out of finding your therapist. In your free Intentional Matching Interview, we’ll take the time to understand your goals and pair you with the therapist who’s right for you.
BIO
Are you tense, discouraged, or fearful of the future? Does your life feel out of control or hard to accept? Do you feel like people don’t understand your lived experience?
Kay Kindy is dedicated to being your compassionate partner in healing. With Kay, you can expect an affirming environment of warmth, non-judgment, and agency. Kay believes in a collaborative therapeutic process where your inner wisdom is valued, goals are personalized, and techniques are tailored to fit your preferences. Using their background in mindfulness, yoga, and somatic practices, Kay will equip you with tools to unburden from the past, find contentment in the present, and look forward to the future. Whether you are navigating the byproducts of trauma, chronic illness, or identity marginalization, Kay will be your advocate as you heal from within.
Kay is thrilled to be interning at The Viva Center, where she’ll learn and apply techniques from Internal Family Systems, Somatic Therapy, Brainspotting, and EMDR. Much of Kay’s previous therapy work has been inspired by parts work, somatics, and polyvagal theory.
Kay is excited to meet you (and hopefully your pets), befriend all of your emotions, and share laughs and tears with you.
Thank you for being here. You’ve already begun healing. Let’s work together to create more safety and connection in your life, even amongst pain.
PROFESSIONAL & CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
Kay’s background as an accessible yoga teacher (RYT-200) has provided her opportunities to teach yoga and meditation to college students, young adults with autism, hospital patients and staff, adults with chronic pain, chronic illnesses, and/or disabilities, and wheelchair users.
Before beginning their MSW, Kay worked at Charlie Health, a virtual intensive outpatient program bringing yoga, meditation, and somatic techniques to female adolescents with trauma and young LGBTQIA+ adults in crisis.
Kay’s previous internship experiences include conducting group therapy at the Montgomery County Crisis Center and providing case management and individual therapy at Mobile Medical Care.
EDUCATION
Kay is working towards their Master’s of Clinical Social Work at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in dance from Chapman University.
