Are you seeking compassionate guidance on your journey towards healing and growth? Sonja Favaloro provides a safe and supportive environment where you can explore and uncover what healing means and looks like for you.
Using somatic techniques and Brainspotting, she will guide you into a deeper connection with your best source of wisdom, your body. Incorporating mindfulness and transpersonal techniques, you can unlock inner resilience and cultivate a sense of purpose and meaning. Through mindfulness practices and gentle exploration, you’ll deepen your connection to yourself and the world around you, fostering a greater sense of balance and well-being.
Sonja’s areas of expertise include, but are not limited to: Brainspotting, Transpersonal Counseling, Internal Family Systems (IFS) techniques, Somatic techniques, Certified Psychosynthesis Life Coach, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
Before starting at the Viva Center, Sonja interned as a counselor at Moksha Living, a holistic therapy practice in Washington, DC. She provided a range of mindfulness-based and cognitive-behavioral treatments to adults and couples dealing with challenges such as anxiety and depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. Additionally, she co-facilitated a weekly workshop series focused on self-development through mindfulness and somatic awareness.
EDUCATION
Sonja holds a Master’s Degree in Mindfulness-based Transpersonal Counseling from Naropa University. She previously earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies from Bates College, with a minor in Dance. She is also a certified Psychosynthesis Life Coach.

Waiver of Liability & Informed Consent
Each of our Clinical Associates is a licensed practitioner. As required by licensure, treatment under a licensed practitioner is confidential. It also outlines the collaborative nature of the therapeutic relationship and co-responsibility for treatment outcomes.
Telemental Health Informed Consent to Treatment
Outlines components, limitations, risks, and benefits of telehealth treatment. Including what to do in the event of an emergency.
Financial Agreement
This form outlines The Viva Center’s financial policies, rates, and out-of-network status.
Client Questionnaire
This form serves 2 purposes: It helps to capture the baseline experience when beginning treatment, allowing for an opportunity to take stock of current status. It also helps the clinician gather important background information without taking extra time in the first session. The first page of this form is required, and the others are supplemental. It is fine to exercise the decision to leave out any areas of the form. Please keep in mind any areas elected not to be disclosed at this time may be relevant to treatment outcomes.
